What is a Dual Fuel Kit (DFK)?

A Dual Fuel Kit (DFK) is an advanced fuel-saving technology designed for diesel generators (DG sets). It allows the engine to operate using a combination of diesel and natural gas without making major modifications to the engine or fuel injection system.

The system works by introducing natural gas into the engine air intake system, reducing diesel consumption while maintaining the same power output and operational performance. Depending on load conditions, the Dual Fuel Kit can safely replace up to 50–70% of diesel fuel with natural gas.

JBDS Power Dual Fuel Kits are designed for industrial and commercial diesel generators to improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and lower operating costs.

Technology Works

The Dual Fuel System starts the diesel generator in normal diesel mode. Once the engine reaches stable operating conditions, the system automatically introduces natural gas through the Air-Gas Mixer and Gas Train Assembly.

The PLC-based control system continuously monitors engine load, exhaust temperature, gas pressure, vibration, and airflow to maintain the correct air-to-fuel ratio.

Diesel acts as a pilot fuel to ignite the air-gas mixture inside the combustion chamber.

This intelligent fuel management system helps maintain engine stability, improve combustion efficiency, and reduce harmful emissions without affecting generator performance.
